River Ridge Senior Men's Golf Club

1.  Stones and pebbles in bunkers are moveable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies).

2.  A ball lying through the green and in a divot in the swale in front of the green on hole number 8 and on holes number 13 and 15 from the 150 yard marker to the lake may be lifted, without penalty, cleaned, and placed within one club length of where it originally lay, but not nearer the hole and not in a hazard or on a putting green, if the situation is brought to the attention of a participant in your group and he concurs with you.  A player may move his ball once and after the ball has been moved it is in play.  (This rule for the Vineyard Course only)

3.  A player may play a provisional ball from the drop area on hole number 18 prior to determining that his ball may have been lost in the water hazard.  Should the original ball be found in the water hazard, and the player wishes to play it as it lies, the provisional ball will be abandoned without penalty.  If the player plays the provisional ball to completion of the hole a one stroke penalty shall be assessed.  This rule is made to avoid undue delay of play while searching for a ball played to a hole of such character that if the original ball is not found, there is reasonable evidence that it is lost in a water hazard.  (Reference Rule 26 and APPENDIX I, USGA “The Rules of Golf 2000-01”).(This rule for the Vineyard Course only)

4.  When the course has been aerated and a ball is lying in such an area it may be lifted, without penalty, cleaned and placed within one club length of the original spot where it lay, not nearer the hole.  This rule applies through the green.  On the putting green the player will place the ball on the nearest spot not nearer the hole which avoids the situation.

5.  Do not use a golf club to move a ball as every “bump” would constitute a stroke and must be counted as such.
